Raymond <strong>Chang</strong> <strong>School</strong>of Continuing Education. Exceptional faculty who are drawn fromToronto’s academic, business, and cultural communities will teachyou, and as a student you have access to the following:• the <strong>Ryerson</strong> Library• the Recreation and Athletics Centre (RAC)• computer facilities and laboratories• international services and programs offered by InternationalStudent Services (ISS)International students may enroll in university credit courses offeredthrough <strong>The</strong> <strong>Chang</strong> <strong>School</strong> without formal admission to <strong>Ryerson</strong>.Some courses in advanced-level certificates do require an interviewand/or prerequisite courses prior to enrollment.Most certificate programs are offered in collaboration with our fulltimedegree programs. After enrolling in your first certificate course,you may register in one of over 90 career-certificate programs. Uponsuccessful completion of some certificate programs, and subject tonormal program admission criteria and procedures, you may apply foradvanced standing in applicable degree programs.Continuing education courses are offered during three termsthroughout the year. Though most courses are offered in the evening,some courses are also offered during the day, on weekends, in anintensive format, or by distance education.For information and assistance in applying for a study permit andother immigration documents, contact the International StudentServices (ISS) office at 416.979.5000, ext. 6655, email issask@ryerson.ca, or visit the ISS website.International Tuition FeesInternational students are charged a different fee from Canadiansunless they qualify for an exemption based on their status.International students who qualify for an international fee exemptionare still required to obtain a Study Permit from Immigration Canada.<strong>The</strong> following categories of international students may be exemptfrom the differential fee:• those with diplomatic status or consular officials• refugee claimants approved by the Government of Canada• dependants of Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada• foreign workers or spouses and/or dependent children of foreignworkers in CanadaTo claim exemption, you must take your original document to theStudent Fees office, Podium, lower ground floor, room POD64,350 Victoria Street, when you enroll in your courses. This must bethe document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada; alawyer’s documentation is not acceptable. Visit the International StudentServices office in POD61 for details on the exemption categories.International Students Fee Rate<strong>The</strong> fees quoted online are in Canadian funds and are the Regular FeeRate. <strong>The</strong> International Fee Rate for continuing education studentsis two and a half (2.5) times the regular student tuition fee for creditcourses. <strong>The</strong> International Fee applies to degree credit courses only.16 For the most current information, see our website at www.ryerson.ca/ce.
