ULTRASonic energy meter 0.6 – 2.5 m3/hUltrasonic compact heat meter SHARKYModel 773DAtasheet ultrasonic compact energy metermodel 773GENERAL❑ Static compact energy meter with fully electronic measurementbased on the ultrasonic principle❑ Storage of volume and energy dataCOMPONENTS❑ Ultrasonic volume measuring component❑ Integrator with integral hardware and software for measuringflow rate, temperature and energy consumption❑ Temperature sensorsINTEGRATORThe integrator contains all the necessary circuits forrecording the flow rate and temperature and for calculating, logging and displaying the data. The integrator housing canbe mounted directly on the volume measuring componentor on the wall. The meter can be conveniently read from asingle-line 7-digit display with units and symbols. A pushbuttonprovides user-friendly control of the various displayloops. All failures and faults are recorded automatically andshown on the LC display. To protect the reading data, all therelevant data are saved in a non-volatile memory (EEPROM).This memory saves the measured values, device parametersand types of error at regular intervals.ULTRASONIC VOLUME MEASURING COMPONENTThe ultrasonic technology of the volume measuring componentpermits very high measuring accuracy and can be usedin the forward or return line. The volume measuring componentmeets the requirements of EN 1434 / class 2 and 3.The standard cable length between the calculator and thevolume measuring component is 1.5 m (5m optional).Supply voltage:❑ Lithium battery 3.0 V DC (12-year life)❑ Lithium battery 3.6 V DC (16-year life) optional❑ Mains unit 230 V AC or 24 V ACTEMPERATURE SENSORSPairs of Pt 100 or Pt 500 temperature sensors (Ø 5.2 mm)with 2-wire leads are used as a standard.INTERFACESSHARKY is equipped as standard with a ZVEI optical interfacewith the M-Bus protocol as per EN 1434. This interface isused, for example, for communication with the HYDRO-SETparameterization software. The meter features 2 slots forthe modules. One slot for the function modules, and one forthe communication modules. The following communication modules are available asoptions:❑ Real Data Radio Module❑ M-Bus module to EN 1434❑ RS 232 moduleThe RS 232 module is a serial interface and permits dataexchange with the heat meter. For this purpose a specialdata cable is necessary (please find order references). The Radio module communicates a list of predefined datarecords. This can be edited by HYDRO-SET.PULSE inPUTTwo additional pulse inputs are available. The pulse valueand the unit is configurable for energy, water, gas or electricalmeter by HYDRO-SET. Also two accounting day´s areavailable for both inputs.PULSE OUTPUTThe meter provides levels for two optional external pulseoutputs, which can be freely programmed using theHYDRO-SET software.Possible pulse output values❑ Energy (standard setting)❑ Volume (standard setting)❑ Tariff energy 1❑ Tariff energy 2❑ Tariff condition 1, limit switch❑ Tariff condition 2, limit switch❑ Energy error❑ Volume errormodule combinationsThe following module combinations for data transmissionare available ex works or for retrofitting in the field.Function modules:❑ Pulse input module❑ Pulse output moduleCommunication modules:❑ M-Bus or❑ RS 232 or❑ Real Data Radio

DATASHEET ultrasonic compact energy metermodel 773ACCESSORIES/SOFTWAREThe HYDRO-SET parametrization software based on theM-Bus is a convenient tool for handling the meter. It runs onWINDOWS® 2000/XP and is used for:❑ taking meter into operation❑ reading out different memories❑ printing out meter logs❑ meter configurationFurther information about the HYDRO-SET software isavailable for free downloading from our website atwww.hydrometer.com/Systems/Downloadcenter.html❑ Reading the meter on a certain day.Example: If the day for reading is 01.10, the meter readingis displayed for the period from 01.10 of the previousyear to 30.09 of the current year.❑ Comparison of the last consumption period with the precedingperiodEVENT MEMORYEvents such as changes and faults are stored in a non-volatilememory with a capacity of up to 31 entries. The followingevents are recorded:❑ Checksum error❑ Temperature measurement error❑ Ultrasonic echo time measurement errors❑ Start and end of test modeMONTHLY MEMORYSHARKY has a history memory of 24 months. The followingvalues are stored in the EEPROM on the programmed date1 ... 31 via (HYDRO-SET) of the actual month:❑ Date/Time ❑ Volume❑ Energy ❑ Error day counter❑ Tariff energy 1 ❑ Maximum monthly flow rate❑ Tariff energy 2 ❑ Maximum monthly power❑ Tariff definition 1 ❑ Date of maximum monthly flow rate❑ Tariff definition 2 ❑ Date of maximum monthly power❑ Impulse input 1 ❑ Impulse input 2Table 1MAX. VALUESThe integrator creates max. values for power and flow ratebased on consumption time, which are stored in the EEPROM.The integration intervals are adjustable to 6, 15, 30 or 60minutes or 24 h. Default setting is 60 minutes.TARIFF FUNCTIONThe integrator offers two optional tariff memories for monitoringplant load states for limit tariffs. Extensive tariffconditions make it possible to adapt the meter individuallyto the required customer-specific applications.Apart from the energy a time-based tariff can also be programmed. The following limit types are possible:(This example applies to the display with 3 decimal places)LOG MEMORYThe log memory is used to store consumption values. Thestorage frequency can be selected from various storageintervals (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30, 60 minutes orthe default setting of 24 hours, see Table 1). The data savedin the log memory can be used for the following analyses:

DAtasheet ultrasonic compact energy metermodel 773DISPLAY CONTROLThe readings are displayed on the meter by a 7-digit LCD with units and symbols.LOOP STRUCTUREThe SHARKY-HEAT display has six loops. Some display windows consist of two (to maximum seven) displays that are shownalternately at 4-second intervals. Some pictures in loops can be deactivated separately.Note: For quick visual guidance, the loops in the display are numbered from 1 to 6.The main loop with the current data, e.g. for energy, volume and flow rate, is programmed as default setting. In the standard setting the loop no. 5 (tariff loop) is not activatedOVERVIEW OF LOOPS

ULTRASonic energy meter 0.6 – 2.5 m3/hUltrasonic compact heat meter SHARKYModel 773DAtasheet ultrasonic compact energy metermodel 773SIMPLE OPERATIONA pushbutton mounted on the front of the meter is used to switch to the various displays. The button can be pressed for ashort or long time. A short press of the button (< 3 seconds) switches to the next display within a loop and a long press(> 3 seconds) switches to the next display loop. The "Energy” window (sequence 1.1) in the main loop is the basic display. The meter switches automatically to power save mode if the button is not pressed for approx. 4 minutes and returns to thebasic display when the button is pressed again. The loop settings can be programmed to suit the customer’s individualrequirements using the HYDRO-SET software.
