Weare looking, in particular, for 1971 and 1999Oswestrian magazines.ThirtyFiveYears!BusinessDirectoryOn 7 June, Oswestry School hosted a very specialTea Party to celebrate the 35th anniversary ofBellan House joining Oswestry School. Twoformer headmistresses of Bellan House, MrsMavis Raines, formerly Evans, and Mrs LesleyDurham, had fascinating memories to recall andeveryone learned a great deal from them aboutBellan House in ‘their day’. Amongst the invitedguests, we were delighted to welcome the Mayorand Mayoress of Oswestry and several Schoolgovernors. The afternoon created an excellentatmosphere for memories and stories to flow overtea and cake. Guests were then treated to currentSchool pupils reading out poems with panacheand everyone had the opportunity to look throughthe Bellan archives, started by Mrs Durham andrecently cultivated by Mrs Sue Davies, whichgenerated more laughter and memories. Theafternoon was enjoyed by all, from the youngschool pupils and their parents to the retired staff;here’s to the next 35 years!We are planning to produce aBusiness Directory that will bepublished on the School website forthe benefit of School parents, OOsand friends of Oswestry School.This is a free opportunity to advertise yourbusiness; the directory will include companies,practices, family trades, consultants, selfemployedand trades. The Directory hasalready received many listings from our OOs,but we would welcome contributions fromparents and friends of Oswestry School.
