B E L L A N H O U S ETheGreatOrmeYear 5 spent a challengingday exploring the Great Ormeand the surrounding areasof Llandudno. Despite theblustery wind and bitter cold,the group showed enormousenthusiasm and determinationto carry on whatever theweather. The extremelypositive diary write up in theevening was a testament to thebenefits of taking pupils outof the classroom and into thewonderful countryside on ourdoorstep.National TrustDay OutAttingham Park was the venue for a wonderful day outfor Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils and the childrenenjoyed a fun filled timetable of activities. Reception pupilsscoured the grounds hunting for mini beasts and visited thedeer park as well as enjoying a tractor ride. A woodlandwalk, investigating the animals that lived t<strong>here</strong> provedvery productive and the children found a number of greatcrested newts, which are a protected species, hiding underlogs. Pupils from Years 1 and 2 spent the day ‘Living in thePast’ as servants working in the “big house”. They enjoyeddressing up and learning what life was like for kitchenstaff in the 18th century. Activities included working in thekitchen and laying a tea tray for the lady of the house!7
