************<strong>M3</strong>1 Melchior Yotter born 28 March 1799, perhaps in Penn Township, SnyderCounty, PA. Surname sometimes Yetter, <strong>Yoder</strong>, Yotter. Residence: WashingtonTownship, Pickaway County, OH, 1820 - 1830 Census; Adams Township, SenecaCounty, OH, 1833-1840; Claypool Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana by 1858. m. 26January 1826 in Pickaway County, OH to Catherine Pontius (born 2 November 1807 inOH - died 2 June 1892, aged 84 years 7months 1 day). All children born in OH.Washington Township, Pickaway County tax list of 1820 indicates he owned 41 acres, 1horse and 4 cattle; 41 acres owned in 1830. 1830 Census of Washington Township:Melchior age 20-30, one son and one daughter under 10.Source: History of Seneca County, Ohio, Original Land Entries of AdamsTownship, page 1065:Melchior Yotter, s.w. 1/4 s.w. 1/4 sec.21, Jan. 25, 1833.Melchior Yotter, s.e. 1/4 s.e. 1/4 sec. 20, March 25, 1833.While in Adams Township, Seneca County, they were apparently members of theCoffman Methodist Episcopal Church, as several grandchildren who died in infancywere interred there.On May 17, 1858, "M. Yotter" sold his two tracts of 40 acres each for $980 and$1,300 respectively. On the same day, "C. Yotter" sold another 40 acre tract for $1,300(perhaps his wife Catherine selling an inheritance). On Nov. 3 of the same year, theirson, John Yotter, sold the 80 acres he had purchased 7 years previously for $2,300."Melcher Yotter" will written 13 November 1858 - sons John and Jacob namedexecutors, mentions wife Catherine and "two youngest sons Henry and George".Melchior died 28 March 1859, aged 60 years 3 months 25 days.Catherine (widowed) in 1860, 1870 (Warsaw Post Office) and 1880,1890 Censuses ofKosciusko County, and in 1886 tax assessment. In 1860 Census, Jane (8) born in OH,Henry (20) farmer, born in OH, George (19) laborer, born in OH, and Susann Pontius(her mother?) (72) born in PA, resides with widow Catherine (53).Both interred in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery on State Route 15, 15 miles north ofClaypool, Kosciusko County, Indiana; Melchior in Row 8, Lot 6. Tombstone: “MelchoirYotter, Died Mar 29, 1859, Aged 60 ys 3 mo 25 ds.” Other side reads: “Catherine, Wifeof M.
