Students will alsolearn basic photographic and imageediting techniques to capture andpresent their ideas creatively.DID104 Design Studio 1This course introduces the designvocabulary to satisfy the functional,aesthetic and behavioural needsof users. An understanding of theprinciples of design is fundamental tocreating forms and spaces to ensurethat the appropriate relationship isachieved between the users and thespatial enclosure.DID106 Evolution of InteriorDesignThis course provides an overview ofhow cultural, social, environmental,and technological factors mayinfluence design styles over time.An understanding of how designhas evolved over time serves as animportant base for the generation ofnew ideas for the present.DID107 Interior Construction 1This course covers the various typesof ceilings, wall and floor finishes,as well as their characteristics,properties and installationmethods.DID110 ScenographyThis course covers the concepts andprinciples of colour psychology,building graphics and signage, art/artifacts and lighting systems forinteriors.DDG807 CAD 1The course covers the use computeraided design/drafting program toproduce simple 2D drawings forpresentation, construction drawingsand detailing.
