ManagementVitaly NESISCEOMr. Nesis graduated from Yale University in 1997. From1997–1999, he worked as an analyst at Merrill Lynch(USA) and from 1999–2000, he worked in the Moscowbranch of McKinsey&Company. Mr. Nesis served as theDirector of Strategic Development at UAZ in 2000−2001. Before joining Polymetal as its CEO, he workedas General Director of Vostsibugol (Irkutsk).Igor VENATOVSKIYCOOIn 1971, Mr. Venatovskiy began working as a hydro−engineer and later became the General Director ofKrasnokholmskgeologiya Production and Geological As−sociation of the General Department of the Ministryof Geology of the USSR. In 1995, he took part in orga−nizing Polymetal and he has served as the COO since2000. Mr. Venatovskiy has received numerous awardsincluding recognition as an Honorable Geologist of theUSSR, Laureate of the Biruni National Award in Scienceand Technology from the Republic of Uzbekistan and amedal for labor prowess.Sergey CHERKASHINCFOFrom 1993–1994, Mr. Cherkashin worked as a con−sultant at AT Kearney consulting company. He servedas the Deputy General Director for Economics at theTimashevsk Dairy Farm (Krasnodarsk District) from1994−1999. And he was employed as the Market−ing Director of the Ulianovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ)from 1999−2000. From 2001–2004, Mr. Cherkashinworked as the Deputy General Director for Economicsat the Volgograd Dairy Farm. Before his appointmentas CFO at Polymetal, he was the Director of the Depart−ment for Agricultural Machine−Building at InterpipeCorp. (Ukraine).Vladimir RYABUKHINDeputy General Director for Mineral ResourcesFrom 1970–1992, Mr. Ryabukhin held numerous scien−tific positions, including working as the Head Geologistat the Krasnokholmsk Production Geological Associa−tion (Tashkent). He discovered the Koscheka and Dzhan−tuar uranium deposits in the Kyzylkumskaya Province.From 1992–1998, he worked as the Head Geologist atNevskgeologiya (St. Petersburg). And since 1998, Mr.Ryabukhin has been employed at Polymetal.Alexander Zarya, Deputy General DirectorFrom 1991–1994, Mr. Zarya worked as the GeneralDirector of NPO Quartz (St. Petersburg) Beginning in1995, he organized the first gold production projectsof Polymetal − Bashkiria Gold Mining Company and theSouth Urals Gold Mining Company. He has worked atPolymetal since its inception.Yury MALAKHDeputy General Director for Materialsand Technical SuppliesFrom 1983–1990, Mr. Malakh worked at the KazanBranch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From2000–2001, he was employed as the head of the De−partment of Information Technologies at Slavneft. Mr.Malakh worked as the Director of Tyazhpromeksportfrom 2001−2003. In 2003, by an order of the RussianDeputy Prime Minister, Mr. Malakh was appointed theRussian Co−Director for the Russian−EC Center forPower Industry Technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in phys−ics and mathematics.Yury DMITRIEVDeputy General Director for SecurityMr. Dmitriev served in Russia’s Armed Forces for 41years − 39 years in national security. He retired as aMajor General and the head of the Military Counterin−telligence Department for troops in the Far East Mili−tary Base. Mr. Dmitriev’s service was recognized withRed Banner and Red Star medals.Valery TSYPLAKOVPolymetal Engineering CEOFrom 1978–1988, Mr. Tsyplakov worked as an en−gineer, chief engineer and research fellow in the De−partment of Plasma Physics at the Moscow Instituteof Engineering and Physics. He worked at the Instituteof Physics in Aarhus, Denmark from 1986−1987. Andfrom 1988–1993, he was a research fellow, head of thelaboratory and department head at the USSR R&D In−stitute of Aviation Automatic Equipment. From 1993–2000, he worked as the leading specialist and DeputyGeneral Director for ICT−M. Since 2000, Mr. Tsyplakovhas been head of the Department for TechnologicalResearch and Deputy General Director for Design andTechnologies at Polymetal.
