It is an anxious time for students whohave spent a long time at secondary school and who are nowembarking on new experiences at college. We ensure that yourtime at <strong>College</strong> is exciting, productive and rewarding and we havean excellent track record in helping new students settle in quickly.I can’t decide on a course – who can I ask for help?There are lots of people who you can ask for help whendiscussing choices after school. <strong>Your</strong> Head of House/Year, Tutor,<strong>Care</strong>ers Teacher or <strong>Care</strong>ers Adviser will be able to help you toselect the most appropriate course. Don’t forget that you canalso call us too. Contact the Customer Liaison and EnrolmentTeam on 01935 423921 for help and advice.When and how can I apply?You can apply from 20 September 2012. Applications areaccepted on a first come, first served basis, so apply early to havea better chance of getting on the course you really want. Receiptof your application will be acknowledged and, once processed,you will be invited for a first interview. Daytime interviews takeplace at local schools and evening interviews are at the maincollege campus in <strong>Yeovil</strong>. Interviews begin in November 2012 forcourses starting the following year.Application forms are available from your <strong>Care</strong>ers Teacher,careers offices in Somerset and Dorset, from the <strong>College</strong>Reception and the <strong>College</strong> website, www.yeovil.ac.uk.Two copies havealso been included at the end of this prospectus.This means you can practice before filling out your final form.Completed application forms should be handed in to your schoolor directly to the <strong>College</strong>. If you have already left school, pleasesend it to the <strong>College</strong>’s Customer Liaison and Enrolment Team.I left school a while ago, will a reference from an employerbe acceptable?Yes. Please add the details on your application form. You willalso need to have evidence of previous examination resultsalready obtained, although mature applicants have more flexibleentry requirements.Can I apply online?Yes.
