PRESSRELEASEFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDATE OF ISSUE: MONDAY, 25 FEBRUARY 2013YEOVIL COLLEGE LAUNCHES NEW MOTOR VEHICLETRAINING COURSES..<strong>Yeovil</strong> <strong>College</strong> has this week, announced the exciting news that Motor Vehicle training courses will nowbe on offer in <strong>Yeovil</strong> after taking over the Motor Vehicle training provision from Paragon Training, earlierthis month.The expansion to courses will create many new opportunities for both full and part time students whowould like to learn about the motor vehicle industry and work towards becoming a trained MotorMechanic.James Hampton, Principal of <strong>Yeovil</strong> <strong>College</strong> said “ We are delighted to be able to add motor vehicletraining to our expanding portfolio of courses, we believe that we will be able to offer an extensive rangeof courses to meet the growing demand within the local community through the Motor Vehicle TrainingCentre. All current and new students starting in September will benefit from being able to accesstechnical knowledge and training locally at <strong>Yeovil</strong> <strong>College</strong>, rather than having to travel further to otherproviders.The Motor Vehicle Training Centre, situated amongst Seaton Mews in <strong>Yeovil</strong>, offers a purpose builttraining centre including a large workshop with a number of vehicles and equipment for students to learnpractical, industry related skills, as well as a number of classrooms to support theory and English andMaths sessions.The centre is now offering a range of new Level 1 and 2 vocational courses and Apprenticeships as wellas a range of part time options. Current <strong>Yeovil</strong> <strong>College</strong> students will also be able to apply to newcourses and a range of Taster sessions as they progress from existing introductory courses.Jayne Lewis, Vice Principal at <strong>Yeovil</strong> <strong>College</strong> said “This is an exciting development for the <strong>College</strong> andgives us the opportunity to expand the range of courses already available on a local basis and build ourpositive relationship with local car retailers and garages. We will be working closely with our newcolleagues at the centre to ensure that current students continue to progress and achieve in their trainingand we look forward to welcoming new applications.
