lives <strong>in</strong> Arizona and he th<strong>in</strong>ks<br />
I should br<strong>in</strong>g it to Arizona to<br />
store over the w<strong>in</strong>ter,” he <strong>said</strong><br />

“It was a great exerc<strong>is</strong>e <strong>for</strong> students<br />
<strong>in</strong> both programs,” <strong>said</strong><br />

th<strong>is</strong> help students develop their<br />
mechanical problem-solv<strong>in</strong>g<br />
skills,” he <strong>said</strong>.<br />

When Echtenkamp jo<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
the Board, the campus <strong>in</strong> Norfolk<br />
had three build<strong>in</strong>gs and<br />
credit enrollment was 1,451<br />
and noncredit enrollment was<br />
2,010. When Warrick jo<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
about ref<strong>in</strong><strong>is</strong>h<strong>in</strong>g a custom fiberglass<br />
body <strong>in</strong> th<strong>is</strong> class,” <strong>said</strong><br />

technology <strong>in</strong>structor. “They<br />
also learned about do<strong>in</strong>g a custom,<br />
two-toned pa<strong>in</strong>t job while<br />
work<strong>in</strong>g with a base coat, clear<br />
coat system.”<br />
Darnall expressed gratitude<br />
<strong>for</strong> the support the project received<br />
from area retailers and<br />
service providers. “The tires<br />
were provided by Square Tire of<br />
Norfolk, mach<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g was provided<br />
by Ag and Industrial Eng<strong>in</strong>e<br />
Mach<strong>in</strong>e of Norfolk and Brunkhorst<br />
Eng<strong>in</strong>e Mach<strong>in</strong>e Shop of<br />
Columbus. Yankton Automotive<br />
built the lower end of the eng<strong>in</strong>e<br />
and NAPA of Norfolk donated all<br />
the pa<strong>in</strong>t and supplies.”<br />
“We also received donated<br />
eng<strong>in</strong>e parts from Northern<br />
Auto Parts of Sioux City, more<br />
eng<strong>in</strong>e parts from CarQuest of<br />
Norfolk, an Optima battery from<br />
Advanced Auto Parts, and parts<br />
<strong>for</strong> the automatic transm<strong>is</strong>sion<br />
from Norfolk Transm<strong>is</strong>sion and<br />
Muffler,” he <strong>said</strong>.<br />
Northeast bids farewell to two Board members<br />
the Board, Northeast had 12<br />
build<strong>in</strong>gs and a credit enrollment<br />
of 1,550 and non-credit<br />
enrollment of 11,000.<br />
Today Northeast has 24<br />
build<strong>in</strong>gs on the Norfolk campus<br />
and leases the education centers<br />
<strong>in</strong> West Po<strong>in</strong>t, O’Neill, and South<br />
Sioux City. F<strong>is</strong>cal year 2009-2010<br />
saw credit enrollment at 7,390<br />
and non-credit enrollment at<br />
18,181.<br />
Dr. Bill R. <strong>Path</strong>, NECC president,<br />
stated “It <strong>is</strong> difficult to<br />
adequately express our appreciation<br />
to them and to let them<br />
know how much their expert<strong>is</strong>e,<br />
h<strong>is</strong>tory and knowledge of th<strong>is</strong><br />
college will be m<strong>is</strong>sed.”
