New build<strong>in</strong>g dedicated<br />

The J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nurs<strong>in</strong>g was officially opened dur<strong>in</strong>g a Ribbon Cutt<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Aarhus City, Denmark. All three<br />

teach at the bus<strong>in</strong>ess college<br />

and Walters <strong>is</strong> also vice pr<strong>in</strong>cipal<br />

of the college.<br />

NECC Broadcast<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>structor<br />

John Skogstoe spent<br />

considerable time with them<br />

expla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Northeast’s KHWK/<br />

Hawk TV. He <strong>said</strong> they brought<br />

many questions with them and<br />

were enthused about <strong>in</strong>troduc<strong>in</strong>g<br />

their students to multimedia<br />

production and eventual<br />

establ<strong>is</strong>hment of a campus TV<br />

station at the Denmark college.<br />

Skogstoe <strong>said</strong>, “They asked<br />

a lot of questions about our<br />

equipment and student roles<br />

<strong>in</strong> the production of both radio<br />

and TV programm<strong>in</strong>g,” he <strong>said</strong>.<br />

Northeast faculty and staff<br />

will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to communicate<br />

with the Danes. The v<strong>is</strong>itors and<br />

hosts d<strong>is</strong>cussed shared projects<br />

<strong>for</strong> some classes. It was suggested<br />

that perhaps Northeast<br />

students and Aarhus Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

College students could share<br />

and exchange work on class<br />

projects via teleconferenc<strong>in</strong>g/<br />

ITV/skype or any other media<br />

<strong>for</strong> courses like <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess and entrepreneurship.<br />

Skogstoe <strong>said</strong> he would like<br />

to v<strong>is</strong>it Aarhus Bus<strong>in</strong>ess College<br />

<strong>in</strong> Aarhus City. “Eventually,<br />

we would like to set up an<br />

exchange program, where our<br />

students can travel there and<br />

Dan<strong>is</strong>h students can v<strong>is</strong>it Northeast<br />

Community College,” he<br />

<strong>said</strong>.<br />

“Th<strong>is</strong> was a great opportunity<br />

<strong>for</strong> both our Dan<strong>is</strong>h v<strong>is</strong>itors<br />

and us,” Skogstoe <strong>said</strong>. “We<br />

can all learn so much from each<br />

other. I hope we cont<strong>in</strong>ue to<br />

communicate with each other<br />

<strong>for</strong> a <strong>very</strong> long time.”
