DEPARTMENTSSRUSHTI JANUARY - MARCH, 2010DEPARTMENTS IN NMREC--Department of Information Technology*ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING:The EEE department was started in 2002. Over the years the department has progressed at a rapidpace with the development in the spheres of infrastructural facilities and advanced syllabi, both inElectrical and Electronics engineering. The department has well experienced, qualified, dedicatedteaching faculty and oriented to work for the development of the students.The Electrical Circuits lab involves small scale voltage-currents and allows to get an understanding of the basiccircuitry of AC/DC systems.Electrical Machines lab allows the students to learn and ponder upon high powered machines such as motorsand generators, MG sets, transformers induction motors their performance and testing.Electrical measurements lab measures powerparameters by using different apparatus and efficientmethods using basic circuitry, simple machines andbridges. The methods involved here are the same thatare employed in practical measuring systems.CONTROL SYSTEMS – The heart of any systemis the controlling circuit and the system governing it.The lab provides the chance to learn about differenttypes of such systems. It teaches the effect of variationof small changes on a machine system.POWER ELECTRONICS LAB – In this lab powersemi conductor devices-thyristor family and controlelectronics devices are extensively used. The controlelectronics has changed from discrete analog systems to digital control and micro processor control.Thyristors are being used economically for power conversion.
