EDMSSA from 2000 to 2002. Applicants must be enrolled in the electronics or<br />
computer studies program. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic<br />
achievement, and recipients must maintain a 3.00 grade point average.<br />
POCOMOKE CITY AREA HEALTH CARE -- The Pocomoke City Area<br />
Health Care Scholarship Inc. provides $1,000 in scholarship funds each year<br />
for students enrolled in <strong>Wor</strong>-<strong>Wic</strong>’s health care (nursing, radiologic technology<br />
or emergency medical services) programs. Selection is based on financial<br />
need and scholastic achievement. Recipients must have at least 15 credit<br />
hours toward the completion of the program, and they must maintain a 3.00<br />
grade point average. First preference is given to residents of <strong>Wor</strong>cester, Somerset<br />
or Accomack County, with second priority to residents from <strong>Wic</strong>omico<br />
County. They must agree to work in one of the four counties on the Lower<br />
Eastern Shore for one year after their graduation. The scholarship funds are<br />
provided for a maximum of two years for full-time students and three years<br />
for part-time students.<br />
PORTER-RINNIER -- William B. and Marlene P. Rinnier and their children,<br />
W. Blair and Lisa L. Rinnier, established an endowed scholarship in memory<br />
of their parents/grandparents, Isabelle Toulson and Harold Lankford Porter,<br />
and Ethelyn Hopkins and Leslie John Rinnier. Income from the endowment<br />
is used for the annual scholarships, which can be used for tuition, fees or<br />
books. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic achievement. Applicants<br />
are selected in the following priority order: 1) office technology students<br />
from <strong>Wic</strong>omico County; 2) office technology students from <strong>Wor</strong>cester<br />
or Somerset County; 3) accounting, business or computer studies students;<br />
and 4) other students. Recipients must maintain a 2.50 grade point average.<br />
PURNELL FOUNDATION -- The L. Franklin and Gertrude H. Purnell Foundation<br />
provides $3,000 in scholarship funds each year through the <strong>Wor</strong>-<strong>Wic</strong><br />
<strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> Foundation for tuition and expenses for <strong>Wor</strong>-<strong>Wic</strong> nursing<br />
program applicants. Applicants must be residents of <strong>Wor</strong>cester County with<br />
plans to practice nursing on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. Selection is<br />
based on financial need and scholastic achievement. Preference is given to students<br />
who are enrolled on a full-time basis.<br />
PUSEY -- The <strong>Community</strong> Foundation of the Eastern Shore provides $10,000 in<br />
scholarship funds from an endowed scholarship fund established by the late<br />
Elizabeth Brittingham Pusey, a lifelong resident of <strong>Wic</strong>omico County. Applicants<br />
must be high school graduates from <strong>Wic</strong>omico County who are enrolled<br />
in a transfer program at the college. Selection is based on financial need and<br />
scholastic achievement.<br />
QUOTA INTERNATIONAL OF SALISBURY -- Quota International of Salisbury<br />
provides $1,000 in scholarship funds each year for students attending<br />
<strong>Wor</strong>-<strong>Wic</strong>. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic achievement.
