ASTM C 962 provides an excellent source ofinformation regarding sealant joint design and the types of sealantsthat are appropriate for various substrates. Although this specificationis primarily for construction sealants, much of the information that itcontains is generally useful for other sealant applications. A usefulguide to proper sealant application procedures is also available fromthe Sealant, Water-Proofers, and Restoration Institute (SWRI) as anapplication manual and a videotape. 24
