P R E F A C EMeet ILOG CPLEXILOG CPLEX offers C, C++, Java, and .NET libraries that solve linear programming (LP)and related problems. Specifically, it solves linearly or quadratically constrainedoptimization problems where the objective to be optimized can be expressed as a linearfunction or a convex quadratic function. The variables in the model may be declared ascontinuous or further constrained to take only integer values.This preface introduces the ILOG CPLEX User’s Manual. The manual assumes that you arefamiliar with ILOG CPLEX from reading Getting Started with ILOG CPLEX and fromfollowing the tutorials there.
