Case Reportas follows:Appointment 1: Primary impressionsAppointment 2: Final impressions and jaw relationsAppointment 3: Try-inAppointment 4: Denture insertion.Discussiona) Perceived advantages of the procedure:1.2.3.4.Patient received his trial denture on his thirdvisit rather than on the fourth or fifth visit as inconventional method.Record bases were stable while making the jawrelations.Error in the jaw relation was minimal.Patient showed a positive response to treatmentand was satisfied with the treatment.b) Perceived limitations of the procedure:1.2.3.4.This technique cannot be used in patients withlimited inter-arch space. Fabrication of removableocclusal rims requires adequate inter-arch space.Laboratory procedures in between appointmentsare cumbersome.The technique requires adequate operator skill tocomplete border molding and final impression inshort time.If this is not achieved the duration of theappointment will be frustrating for the patient– which in turn leads to errors in jaw relations.ConclusionThe above described procedure has its own advantageswith limitations as it cannot be applied to all patients.The laboratory procedures involved may not be providedby all dental technicians due to lack of familiarity withthis technique and may result in higher treatmentcost.References1.2.3.4.5.6.7.Sheldon Winkler: Essentials of complete dentureProsthodontics, 2nd edition, AITBS Publishers, India ,2000.George A.
