Boomerangs FS sit at <strong>the</strong> bottom of <strong>the</strong> tableafter <strong>Series</strong> One of <strong>the</strong> inaugural F-<strong>League</strong>. Witha few close results in <strong>the</strong> first 5 rounds, <strong>the</strong>ACT based side were left thinking what mighthave been. In Round 3 a major highlight for <strong>the</strong>Boomerangs was a 5-5 draw with <strong>Series</strong> Onepace setters Dural Warriors. The Boomerangswere leading in <strong>the</strong> match all <strong>the</strong> way to <strong>the</strong>last minute when a defensive blunder allowed<strong>the</strong> Warriors to share <strong>the</strong> spoils. Boomerangsare <strong>the</strong> only side yet to record a victory in <strong>the</strong>F-<strong>League</strong> but <strong>Series</strong> <strong>Two</strong> will be a different storywith <strong>the</strong> Boomerangs out with a point to prove.Boomerangs FSSo far <strong>the</strong> Star for <strong>the</strong> Boomerangs has beenPlayer/Coach Angelo Konstantinou. Konstantinouhas been leading <strong>the</strong> way between <strong>the</strong> postfor his young side, with a number of top classsaves to show why he is still a member of <strong>the</strong><strong>Futsal</strong>roos setup.Player/Coach Konstantinou said ”After notplaying much <strong>Futsal</strong> since Nationals in Januarysome of <strong>the</strong> boys struggled to make an impression,But in saying that we lost 3 games by onlyone goal and drew one”When asked on his thoughts on <strong>Series</strong> <strong>Two</strong>“We can’t get any worse and we will have moreplayers coming up for <strong>Series</strong> <strong>Two</strong> which shouldmake it a lot more interesting””


Unbeaten after <strong>Series</strong> One, Rob Varela’s well drilled and experienced sideare genuine title contenders.The Warriors lead on goal difference but will be looking to extend this lead in <strong>Series</strong> <strong>Two</strong>.The young Warriors side lead by experienced <strong>Futsal</strong>roo duo Greg Giovenali and TobiasSeeto have shown <strong>the</strong>y can score from all parts of <strong>the</strong> court. In <strong>Series</strong> One <strong>the</strong>y enjoyedlong periods of possession as <strong>the</strong>y worked <strong>the</strong>ir opponents around <strong>the</strong> court looking for<strong>the</strong> opportunity to strike. With a lot of <strong>the</strong> Clubs junior talent getting an opportunity <strong>the</strong>Warriors will continue to go from strength to strength in <strong>Series</strong> <strong>Two</strong>.The Warriors were held to two draws in <strong>Series</strong> One a shock 5-5 with Boomerangs which<strong>the</strong>y were lucky to come away with <strong>the</strong> points in and <strong>the</strong> match of <strong>Series</strong> One 4-4 withMaccabi Hakoah. Maccabi pushed The Warriors all <strong>the</strong> way and a dramatic late equalizer from <strong>the</strong>Warriors kept <strong>the</strong>ir undefeated streak alive. In Round 1 Dural Warriors recorded <strong>the</strong> biggest win of<strong>the</strong> F-<strong>League</strong> so far a 12-4 thumping of Parramatta Blues.Dural WarriorsThe Warriors also have Greg Giovenali leading <strong>the</strong> wayin <strong>the</strong> golden boot tally with 11 goals from his 3 starts.Coach Rob Varela was extremely happy with his side’sperformance during <strong>Series</strong> One “We are happy to be in<strong>the</strong> position we are in. Our main aim in <strong>the</strong> first <strong>Series</strong>was to pick up as many points as possible because weknow that all teams will improve in <strong>the</strong> following <strong>Series</strong>and <strong>the</strong> competition will become even more fierce.<strong>the</strong> opportunity to use some of our younger players; inone game we fielded four 16 year olds and <strong>the</strong>y performedvery well”.Asked on his thoughts of <strong>the</strong> F-<strong>League</strong> so far Varelawent on to say “We are looking forward to <strong>the</strong> next two<strong>Series</strong> and we are under no illusion about how difficult all<strong>the</strong> games will be.
