CENTRAL FUTSAL HAWKE’S BAYNewcomers Central Futsal-Hawke’s Bay go into theirfirst National League with one eye on the future afternaming a young, but exciting squad.Targets Nat Wright (right) and Patrick Pilz (below, red strip)appeared for Red Sox in last year’s National League andare the only players to have played at this level.Lightning quick target Wright was a star performer inlast year’s Dunedin series with six goals, while theGerman born Pilz is well known on the national scenewith his strength and formidable shooting ability. The rest of the squad for Dunedin is mainly made up ofyouth players who have come through the ranks of the HBFutsal club over the last five years, with Dylan Cozens,Adam Kockelburgh, Simon Stallard, Carl Shackleton andMItch Webber all only 15 or 16 years old.Coach Mark Cozens led a good number of thoseplayers to first place at the NZ Football Futsal YouthChampionships in July, but it remains to be seenwhether this success can be transferred to senior level. It’s a tough assignment for the young side, but if theycan get hold of the ball, Central Futsal-Hawke’s Bay willbe an exciting proposition with their high energy ‘off thecuff’ counter-attacking style.Name Nationality PositionNathaniel Wright new Zealand TargetMitchell Webber New Zealand Goalkeeper/FlankerDylan Cozens New Zealand FlankerCarl Shackleton New Zealand FlankerSimon Stallard new Zealand FlankerTai Barham england FlankerJacob Weaver new Zealand Goalkeeper/FlankerJack Needes new Zealand FlankerLee Jackson new Zealand PivotPatrick Pilz germany Target/PivotAdam Kockelbergh England PivotReiner Bauerfiend New Zealand Flanker/TargetHEAD COACH: Mark CozensTECHNICAL ADVISOR: Juliano SchmelingTEAM MANAGER: Jo WebberPhotoS: (left) DAMIAN BRIGGS PHOTOGRAPHY | (ABOVE) HB FUTSAL
