Wander the town and check out the beaches, not forgetting tolook out for flying fox bats at dusk. On Day 3, a full-day’s boat cruisewill take you to Rinca Island and on to the grasslands of KomodoIsland, famous for its namesake Komodo dragons. (2B)RutengDrive inland to Ruteng, nestled in amongst a high mountain rangeand a maze of valleys. Browse the local markets in the area and feaston delicious local food. Hike around lush rice paddies or choose tovisit Liang Bua, a limestone cave on the island of Flores, known forthe discovery of the Flores Man (the Hobbit). (B)BajawaDrive to the striking hill town of Bajawa and marvel at the gorgeousmountain and volcanic views.
