Damien Hirst was commissioned to create a<br />
sculpture to celebrate chef Mark Hix‘s new<br />
London restaurant venture – Tramshed in<br />
Shoreditch. Titled Cock and Bull, it is a reference<br />
to Tramshed‘s menu, which is centred<br />
on chicken and beef dishes. The huge sculpture<br />
is elevated above diners in the centre of<br />
the old electricity generating station.<br />

moderniSt deSiGn<br />
London design office Doshi Levien and designer<br />
Sebastian Herkner both have pieces in<br />
production for Italian furniture manufacturer<br />
Moroso. Doshi Levien’s latest offering is the<br />
Chandigarh sofa, paying homage to modernist<br />
architect Le Corbusier; while Sebastian<br />
Herkner has launched a coat armchair and<br />
a complementary Bask basket doubling as a<br />
side table.<br />

The Marq on Paterson Hill, Signature Tower<br />
in Singapore is the first luxury apartment building<br />
that is fully decorated by French luxury<br />
design house Hermès. Built in collaboration<br />
with SC Global Developments, the expansive<br />
apartments feature a carefully curated combination<br />
of Hermès furniture, fabrics, accessories<br />
and artworks.<br />
Green Sound<br />
Eco-made have come up with a sustainable<br />
design to enhance the loudspeaker of your<br />
iPhone. The Eco-Amp is an environmentally<br />
friendly amplifier made from FSC Certified<br />
100 per cent Post Consumer and Alternative<br />
Fibre paper, and printed with soy-based ink.<br />
The design is based on the same principles<br />
as the classic gramophone.<br />
Cultural eveninGS<br />
The acclaimed annual commission at<br />
London’s Serpentine gallery has been designed<br />
by architects Herzog & de Meuron and<br />
Beijing-based artist Ai Weiwei. The 12th pavilion<br />
has a plane of water that is now floating<br />
above the lawn of the gallery. Also, throughout<br />
summer, public talks (“Park Nights”) are being<br />
organised by the Serpentine for visitors.
