Linkages are 3CR12 (or stainless steel can bespecified). All dissimilar metals are insulated to limit any galvanicattack.Sealing of the sleeve valve is achieved by a front seal and two rearseals. The front seal is a large o-ring clamped in position by astainless steel clamping ring to prevent it being removed by highvelocity water. The rear seals are smaller o-rings housed in the valvebody (see figure 2.3). The use of o-rings allows users to purchasespare seals virtually anywhere.The aluminium bronze sleeve is greased between the back seals (seefigure 2.3).Small sleeve valves can be operated hydraulically (as shown in figure2.1), manually (from a pedestal or as specified by the customer)or by Electric Actuator. Alternate means of operation can beaccommodated, please submit details of your requirements to ourEngineering Department.Position indication can be provided by means of a cable and weightarrangement or by means of an electronic positioning system. If thevalve is operated hydraulically the electronic positioning system canbe mounted inside the hydraulic cylinder.
