NOTE If you are using Corel <strong>Linux</strong>, click the Main Menu button, point<br />

to Applications, point to Network, and then click Dial-Up, which<br />

starts KPPP.<br />

5. Click Setup. You will see the KPPP (Dial-Up) Configuration<br />

dialog box.<br />

6. In the KPPP (Dial-Up) Configuration dialog box,<br />

click the Modem tab.<br />

7. Click Query Modem, as shown in Figure 1.2.<br />

<strong>Linux</strong> now tests the communication setup with the<br />

modem in several different ways. If you see a series<br />

of “Modem Query Results,” you are ready to set<br />

up a connection to the Inter<strong>net</strong>. Otherwise, read<br />

the follo<strong>wing</strong> sections to diagnose your problem.<br />

If KPPP does not detect your modem on the first try, do<br />

not despair. Chances are you can solve the problem. For
