The lightning protection power pack
The performance data of the new
PoWERTRAB Type 1 arrester is
impressive. The enormous rated voltage
of 800V AC is especially interesting for
applications with 690 V iT networks,
among others. The PoWERTRAB can
withstand temporary voltage peaks of up
to 1,960 V for several hundred milliseconds
without stress.
At home in rough environments
The robust housing design of the
PoWERTRAB already shows its
applicability in extreme environments at
first sight.
According to EN 60068, it is shock-tested
up to 25 g and vibration-tested up to 5 g.

Every PWT is equipped with two
terminal points each for conductor cross
sections from 16 to 50 mm². The inside
hexagon screwing provides for high
traction and safe handling.

The PWT arrester possesses a multilevel
signaling system in case of overload.
A pre-damage is signaled via the
status LED as well as reported via the
first switching contact of the remote
indication connection to the system
controller. As the PWT still possesses
the full protective power in this status,
a replacement is only required during
the next routine maintenance. in case
of further overload events, the PWT
will send this status via the second
remote indication contact. in this case,
a replacement should take place at short
notice in order not to put the lightning
protection of the system at risk.
