THE KEYLESS WORLD OF SIMONSVOSS:
TECHNOLOGIES DESIGNED WITH THE CUSTOMER IN MIND.
A new dimension of access control. SimonsVoss was founded to produce a system which
makes our customers’ lives and work more secure, convenient and cost-effective. To this end,
we have used digital technology to revolutionize classic mechanical lock systems and integrated
access control functions.
SimonsVoss sets international standards. Our idea of using a digital transponder rather than
a standard key has taken off the world over. We have successfully and consistently realized this
vision with our radio-controlled, wireless lock and access control system. SimonsVoss is the undisputed
technology leader in the rapidly growing market for digital, battery-operated lock and access
control systems. We have installed more than 7,000 systems around the world, proving that our
vision has already become reality.
Major presence in many countries. SimonsVoss now has local branches in Austria, Great
Britain, France, Italy, Spain, the Benelux, Singapore, the Middle East and the United States.
The headquarters in Unterfoehring near Munich is home to administration, central departments and
development. Production and logistics are based in Petersberg near Jena. Ludger Voss (CTO),
Hans-Gernot Illig (CEO) and Bernd Quade (CFO) all fi rmly support this development and other
forward-looking security solutions.

Philosophy
INNOVATIVE TRANSPONDER TECHNOLOGY:
IMPRESS CUSTOMERS.
It all comes down to reliability and speed. The System 3060 is more than just a product. The
concept was created with people in mind. People who use digital lock systems. People who are
looking for increased security, convenience and cost-effectiveness. People who develop, produce
and market our active transponder technology. Everyone who helps our vision of a keyless world
become reality on a daily basis.
Excellent technologies with outstanding design. We are continually developing our products.
By that we don’t just mean the “technology” of our innovations but their design too. It is only by
combining the two that we meet the high standards our customers demand of a high-quality solution.
In this way we produce fi rst-class, convenient technology with an outstanding design that fi ts
seamlessly with both ultra-modern and classic settings. International juries also recognize the idea
and vision behind SimonsVoss. A whole wealth of innovation and design prizes, including the red dot
design award, prove the standard and success of our products.

08
History
Our success story:
programmed for the
future right from the
start.
1995 1995 – 1997 1998 – 1999 2000 – 2002
Founded on a solid basis.
When the company was founded in
1995, the objective was to increase
the convenience and security of
locking systems using state-ofthe-art
electronic technologies.
The Munich location proved to be
extremely benefi cial to the basic
development process, because the
large number of electronic fi rms
allowed the swift setup of a
capable development department.
The intellectual brains behind the
system included the founding
fathers and pioneers of the
company: Ludger Voss, now Chief
Technology Offi cer, and Herbert
Meyerle, now authorized representative
and Head of Hardware
Development.
Key steps towards market
leadership. Between 1995 and
1997, the focus was on developing
extremely low-energy electronic
modules. This served as the basis
for using battery-operated system
components and innovative
mechanical functions and for the
active transponder as the heart of
the System 3060. The fi rst product
to be launched was a wireless
electronic lock in 1997.
Innovations of importance for
our success. SimonsVoss’
breakthrough came with the
world’s fi rst wireless digital locking
cylinder. This was presented in
1998 at the Security exhibition in
Essen and went into volume
production at the end of that year.
The product range was continuously
expanded. 1999 saw
the launch of the wireless network
3065 for online programming and
recording data and the availability
of a cylinder that freely rotates on
both sides. For simple offl ine
programming on-site, a programming
device was developed based
on a handheld computer.
Demand and production grow.
The fi rst foreign branch opened its
doors in July 2000 in France, and
in 2001, the subsidiary in Singapore
was opened. As part of ongoing
expansion, production and
logistics were relocated from
Koenigshuette in the Harz region
to Petersberg near Jena in August
2002. The Petersberg location
enables SimonsVoss to continuously
adapt its production
capacity to rapidly growing
demand.

2003 – 2005 2006 – 2007 2008 – 2009 2010 – present
SimonsVoss meets important
standards. In April 2003,
SimonsVoss was certifi ed by TÜV
for the fi rst time in accordance
with ISO 9001. The TÜV certifi cation
confi rmed SimonsVoss’
compliance with the regulations
and conduct required for consistent
quality in all areas of the
company, from development to
production. In 2004 SimonsVoss
presented two global innovations:
the WaveNet radio network and the
wireless PinCode keypad 3068.
Branches were opened in Great
Britain and in the Netherlands.
Optimizing what is good and
developing new products. In
January 2006 was the founding of
our subsidiary in the US, which
undertakes both product
development work for the North
American market and system
sales in the NAFTA region.
In January 2007 the fourth
generation of electronic locking
cylinders was successfully
launched, with yet more attractive
features, and the wireless
biometric wall reader Q3008 was
also presented. In September
2007 the sales network was
expanded with the establishment
of another sales offi ce in Belgium.
Groundbreaking security in
a networked world. In 2008
SimonsVoss added to its range
of networking products a
powerful virtual network solution.
This made SimonsVoss the only
manufacturer capable of offering
various networking options and
guaranteeing investment security
for customers for future system
expansions.
In 2008 saw the launch of 3061 – Network
Inside, the fi rst locking cylinder
which can be directly networked. For
the fi rst time, SimonsVoss was able
to quickly and very cheaply fi t
networked locking and access
control systems.
SimonsVoss Technologies AG is
the world’s leading supplier on the
electronic locking and access
control systems market. This was
confi rmed in December 2009 by a
report entitled “The World Market
for Electronic Physical Access
Control Equipment – 2009 Edition”
by the renowned market research
company IMS Research.
International activities were also
further intensifi ed with the
establishment of more sales
offi ces in Spain and Italy.
History
Intelligent technologies drive
expansion. In 2010 the company
launched the SmartHandle 3062,
the electronic door handle.
The regional headquarters for the
Asia Pacifi c region in Singapore,
opened in June 2010, is part of a
comprehensive strategy to focus
on international expansion and
provide optimum support to a
fast-growing Asian customer
base. SimonsVoss is leveraging
the economic upturn in Asia to
expand its presence on the Asian
market.
SimonsVoss employs more than
245 people at its headquarters
in Munich, the production site in
Petersberg and the foreign
subsidiaries.
10 The modular System 3060
THE MODULAR SYSTEM 3060:
BRINGING YOU PEACE OF MIND AND VALUABLE ADDED EXTRAS.
The problem: Security is a priority for all, be it small and medium enterprises, major corporations,
labs, institutes, hospitals, banks or government. Over time, they will add different systems to their
security setups: various mechanical lock systems, identifi cation credentials, access control and
time recording systems, garage controllers and food service payment systems. It’s either virtually
impossible or very costly to maintain an overview of the complete setup. Resources are tied up and
time and money wasted.
The solution: The System 3060 fl exibly combines your individual components and offers you
tailored access, recording, logging, control and monitoring functions. At the touch of a button,
doors, gates, elevators, turnstiles and even desk drawers can be unlocked. The system automatically
records and logs every access event. It manages everything with one clear tool which can be
used to quickly respond to changes at any time. One software solution becomes your control
center for access, alarms and much more. Naturally, it can also be networked wirelessly.

Central control.
Depending on your requirements,
you can also use the system to
control your building security online
from anywhere in the world. You
can use sophisticated software to
make any change you want in real
time and immediately protect your
building from unauthorized access
or further damage should the
worst happen.
Great cost-effectiveness.
Low follow-up costs, minimal
administration and maintenance
costs and a pleasantly long usage
period quickly compensate
for your investment in a digital
lock system. This also saves you
the costs of extra access control
systems as the Digital Locking
and Access Control System 3060
already offers them.

12 System 3060 – Transponder credentials
UNIVERSAL TRANSPONDER CREDENTIALS:
VERSATILE USE.
One digital credential for all systems. Whether you use an active transponder or passive Smart-
Card, PinCode keypad or biometric wall reader – select the optimum identifi cation credential for
your lock system and for every task. The freely programmable transmitters wirelessly activate the
locks with no risk of eavesdropping. Access is only granted in response to a valid authorization.
Lost transponders can be blocked and access authorizations changed quickly in the lock plan at
the click of a mouse.
Your transponder can be used not only to operate up to seven independent lock systems but also
to record your working hours and even pay for your lunch in the cafeteria. The transponder is protected
from falsifi cation, and is available in various versions.

SOFTWARE AND PROGRAMMING FOR YOUR CENTRAL CONTROL:
ACCESSIBLE ANYWHERE. ANYTIME.
Locking System Management – LSM, the tailored software solution for your locking system.
The Digital Locking and Access Control System 3060 consists of a series of intelligent components.
The locking system management software is the all-encompassing element that enables all tasks
to be implemented quickly and conveniently. It issues transponders, programs locks, reads out
access events. The more complex the requirements, the more elaborate the software needs to be.
You just need one simple piece of software for standard tasks. A large group of companies with
offi ces all over the world needs a package that offers high performance. Individual versions are all
compatible, enabling future requirements to be met.
Simple system management using intelligent functions. Combine editions and modules
to create an LSM that meets your requirements. The basic LSM edition, used to manage up to
64,000 transponders and locks and up to 100 time zone groups, forms the basis. Import existing
lists. Map the structure of your buildings and organization to ensure an overview. Extra modules
can be used to produce hierarchical levels and show how each level can inherit - no quotes needed.
Make your LSM network-ready and capable of working with multiple users and clients. By logging
changes, you ensure protection against unauthorized modifi cation. In access control systems
with several locations, using the WaveNet radio network greatly reduces administrative work and
therefore costs.

CONCISE PROFITABILITY:
SECURE, FAST AND CONVENIENT.
Individual variables, calculable costs. Over time each company will have developed its own
security setup. Then several buildings with different lock systems are to be combined. Or one system
is to result from several different solutions. Or the master key for a research lab or production
unit is lost and the company can‘t wait for all the locks to be re-keyed. These are just a few real-life
examples for which there is a perfect solution just waiting to be implemented: the Digital Locking
System 3060. Installed wirelessly in a blink of the eye, with integrated access control system and
interfaces.
Make things simple with SimonsVoss. It’s easy to calculate the costs of conventional lock
systems: mechanical wear, expensive storage of spare parts, production of new keys and spare
cylinders. Added to this are the costs for planning, management and documentation – often for
several lock systems in parallel, year after year.
With low follow-up costs and the huge amounts of time that can be saved in planning, management
and documentation, investing in a digital lock system from SimonsVoss quickly becomes a solid
investment.
The experience gained from a number of projects shows that a digital lock system can have paid
for itself in around three years. It’s good for your budget too, as the modular structure allows the
system to gradually grow to suit your new requirements, guaranteeing you optimum investment
protection.
