HALL OF FAMEThe 2009 Hall of Fame Inductees included Leigh Hadick ’95, who wasTeam MVP and NWC All-conference her senior year in both volleyballand basketball.Josh Nobilio ’99 was NWSC All-conference in football, basketball andbaseball and Team MVP in football and baseball his senior year.Patti Thelen ’79 was volleyball co-captain junior and senior years,Team MVP sophomore, junior and senior years, and All-Conferenceand <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> All American her senior year.Anne Bolger ’90 was volleyball All Conference her junior and senioryears. Anne was named College Sophomore Athlete of the Yearat McHenry County College and played in the NCAA NationalTournament, Final Four, in 1993.Darren Fortin ’84 played football at Villanova University, has coachedfor over 20 years, and is a current Freshman Football Coach at<strong>Marian</strong>. Darren likes to pass on what he learned from Coach DonPenza, “Hard work and effort is rewarded.”Past and present Fathers Club officers pictured are: Don Kaminski, Larry Lozar,Bruce Thacker, Bobbi Suthard, George Frisch, Shari Lederman, Tom Olsen,Tony Remke ‘85, and Mike ChodorowskiLarry Herff, has spent decades photographing <strong>Marian</strong> Athletes andtheir coaches. Larry volunteered with the Fathers Club Bingo Programfor 10 years. He is retired and enjoys watching his grandchildren playon <strong>Marian</strong> teams.Fathers Club runs a weekly Bingo Program. Funds raised were usedfor football field lights, bleachers, service facility, three capital campaigns,computer lab, addition to the wrestling facilities, the DonPenza Strength Center, and cafeteria improvements.The 1998 Girls Cross Country Team was the only <strong>Marian</strong> cross countryteam to win State.The 1991 Girls Track and Field Team qualified for State in 7 out of17 events. Laura Witek, Heidi Hoscheit, Katie Huinker and JennyKoranda all qualified for State as individuals1991Track and Field team which qualified for the state finals in 7 out of 17events.
