Hawking its local gridiron heroes duringthe 1948 AAFC season, the Maryland Match Co. issued a set of (10) matchbooksindividually showcasing Colts players. Presented are all (10) of thosematchbooks, with each encapsulated and assessed 40 VG 3 by SGC. The obverseof each presents beautifully, with player image and text legend denoting name,position and college. “Maryland Match Co.” appears on the saddle, and the backurges viewers to “Buy Maryland Made Products” and “Ride With The Colts.”The matches have been long-since removed (accounting in large part for thetechnical grades), though the only visible creases are the proper folds at the saddleand striker.
