Elle survient dans les suites de posede prothèses articulaires (hanche, genou, épaule pour arthrose)et de pose de matériel métallique (pour fractures le plus souvent).Leur traitement nécessite des soins complexes multi-disciplinaires (chirurgiens,anesthésistes, infectiologues, microbiologistes, etc.). Ces traitementssont longs et coûteux. Il en résulte souvent de lourdes séquelles fonctionnelles,familiales et professionnelles. Des décès sont encore à déplorer.C’est dire si la prévention de ces infections liées aux soins est fondamentale.Une prise de conscience éclairée de ces accidents infectieux par tousles acteurs, y compris les patients, est nécessaire.Objectifs :• Structurer et améliorer la prise en charge des malades infectés• Améliorer les pratiques professionnelles sur le plan de l’hygiène• Développer des technologies et mettre au point avec les industrielsconcernés des dispositifs médicaux limitant les risques• Promouvoir et explorer la recherche fondamentale sur les mécanismesde ces infections encore peu connus• Rassembler les praticiens des différentes spécialités tant médicalesque technologiques qui contribuent à la lutte au quotidien contre le phénomèneinfectieux.Multidisciplinary professional gathering for the diagnostic,prevention and treatment of surgical infectionsApost-operative infection is a very serious surgical complication,particularly in the field of osteoarticular surgery. It occurs after placementof joint prostheses (hip, knee, shoulder as a result of osteoarthritis)and the use of material made of metal (usually in the case of fractures).Treatment entails complex multi-disciplinary care (surgeons, anaesthetists,infectious diseases specialists, microbiologists, etc.).These treatmentsare long and costly. The end result is often major functional, familial andprofessional sequelae, or even death.
