18184.2.3 Motivation to VisitThe key motivator for visiting the waterways is participation in arecreation or activity, with 52% stating this as a reason for their visit.The spread of the recreational use of the waterways acrosscommunities is a highly valuable resource. The second most popularreason to visit is for a short break or holiday. The natural environment, interms of scenery and well kept areas, was a motivator for 13% ofwaterway users.
