<strong>Jan</strong>uary 2000REBEKAH MAGAZINE9MALVERN POCAHONTAS LODGE The Officers <strong>of</strong> Malvern Pocahontas <strong>Lodge</strong> #201 were installed on October 18, 1999 byD.D.G.M. Robert Pyle and Staff.That evening their Members who had attended55 years <strong>of</strong> service were honoredwith presentation <strong>of</strong>a Veterans Jewel. TheJewels were presented by Robert Vaughn,Jr., Past <strong>Grand</strong> Masterto Taylor M. Stauffer,A. Wayne Miller, and Allen Mauger, butBro Mauger was not present.They are also honored to have a 74 yearmember who was iniated into the formerPocahontas <strong>Lodge</strong> #42 in June 16, 1925.MAHONEY REBEKAH LODGE 428Mahoney Rebekah <strong>Lodge</strong> 428 and Lady Landis <strong>Lodge</strong> 303<strong>of</strong> District 25 hosted a School <strong>of</strong> Instruction Saturday,August 7. The day began with c<strong>of</strong>fee and donuts as theRebekahs arrived. Meeting opened with Pres. Lee Etta Mansberrypresiding, <strong>of</strong>fering an inspirational poem, prayer and salute toAmerican Flag. Various questions were asked, discussed and answered.There were35 attending including Pres. LeeEtta Mansberry,Vice Pres. Mary Leitzel, Secretary Hazel Mest, Treasurer SaraBonson, and Warden Irene Kelly <strong>of</strong> Rebekah Assembly and <strong>Grand</strong>High Priest <strong>of</strong><strong>Grand</strong> Encampment Charles Kelly. Sisters <strong>of</strong><strong>Lodge</strong>sSusannah, Red Rose, !della, Lady Butler, Lady Landis and Mahoneywere also in attendance.Lunch was served followed with more discussion. Pres. Lee Ettaclosed the meeting with a reminder to all to think about Homelesspeople. She stated it was a successful day <strong>of</strong> information.Martha RiceCONSOLIDATED BUTTERFLIESHello Rebekah Sisters,As a "consolldated butterfly," I must give you all some newsfrom this side <strong>of</strong> the bushes, or trees whichever you prefer.There was activity at a furious rate to which I witnessedfrom the shoulders <strong>of</strong> the pictured Rebekahs. Installation - theycalled it. First there were the practices which had much stumblingabout. By the last one, they knew exactly where to stand, what tosay and when to move. Second, I was replicated into many morepieces to adorn eight Sisters and to give away at two weB attendedInstallation Ceremonies at Lady Canton #362 and Wysox #443.There, too, I say much Courtesy, Grace, Laughter and Affectiongiven to my "wearers." AND the food - Jcould get really eloquenthere: human food has that variety. We butterflies have our ownmenu, y'know.The Ritualistic beauty <strong>of</strong> the Sisters' activities is truly Inspiringand Up-lifting. Now 1 must find a warm Winter's crack or Migrateto warmer climes.
