Nevada Alcohol and DrugAbuse Counselor RequirementsLicensed/CertifiedCounselorsClinicalSupervisorsNevada Administrative Code 641C (NAC 641C.300)requires that all licensed or certified alcohol and drugcounselors earn 40 hours of continuing educationhours during a two-year period of licensure orcertification, of which three hours must pertain toethics and three hours must pertain to confidentialityand HIPAA.Licensed counselors who supervise certified internsmust attend at least ten hours of continuing educationin counseling supervision, ethics, and Nevada lawduring the two-year certification period.
