PUBLlC HEALTH111641) Where the Central Health Committee or Local MinisterBoard report to the Minister-may givedirections incertain cir-(a) existence of any local condition in any part of the cumstances.Island tending to endanger public health, and thereare no powers under any law other than this sectionwhereby such condition may be removed orguarded against; or(6) that any part of the Island appears to be threatenedwith or affected by any communicable disease inepidemic proportions, and that measures apartfrom, or in addition to, those specifically providedfor in this Act, should be taken promptly,the Minister may by order direct the enforcement of anymeasures recommended by the Central Health Committeeor by a Local Board, as the case may be, or any othermeasures that he thinks expedient for removing or otherwiseguarding against any such condition and the probable consequencesthereof, or for preventing or mitigating as far aspossible, any such disease.(2) Any order made under this section may extend tothe whole Island or to such part thereof or to such particularplaces as may be specifiecd therein.(3) A copy of every order made under this sectionshall be posted in a conspicuous place at every police stationand post office in the Island.(4) Any person who contravenes the provisions ofany order made under this section shall be guilty of anoffence under this Act.17.
