Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Local Boards Functionsofshall have the power, for the purpose of the performance of bards. Localtheir functions under this Act-(a) to divide their respective parishes into sanitarydistricts and from time to time alter such districtsin number or extent as may be convenient;(b) to carry on all activities which appear to them tobe requisite, advantageous or convenient in theinterest of public health;(c) to enforce all regulations and orders made underthis Act; and(d) to do anything and enter into any transactionwhich, in the opinion of the Local Board, isnecessary to ensure the proper discharge of theirfunctions .7.-( 1) A Local Board may from time to time, and shall ~oca~ Boardif directed by the Minister to do so, make regulations relating ~ & ~ ~ ~ ~ s .to-(a) the overcrowding of buildings and measures toremedy same;(b) the provision, use and maintenance of publicsanitary conveniences;(c) the cleaning, disinfection and maintenance ofpremises, including markets, slaughter houses,dairies, places connected with the food trade, andany public place;(d) barracks;(e) the closure of buildings dangerous to the inhabitantsthereof or to public health;[The inclusion of this page is authorized by LN. 87/1986]
