PV workshopsPV 301L: Battery-basedLab WeekNABCEP credit hours: Five-dayin-person = 40 hoursSafely install, test, and commission batterybasedPV systems at the Paonia lab facility.This workshop offers five days of hands-on installationpractice with battery-based systems at SEI’s PV labtraining facility. Lab stations are comprised of both standaloneand grid-tied with battery back-up systems, andinclude both AC and DC coupled systems. Integratinggenerator back-up are also covered. Participantsconcentrate on battery safety, wiring, and maintenance,and wire balance of system components including:combiner boxes, disconnects, power centers, controllers,battery banks, and inverters. Set-up, basic programming,and testing of components for specific battery-basedapplications are integrated into the lab sessions. Studentslearn fundamental procedures for safe installation andcommissioning practices, and all exercises have anemphasis on battery safety considerations. The maximumeight to one student-to-instructor ratio and comprehensivelab setting create the ultimate environment to receive firsthands-on PV and battery experience.Prerequisites: PV 101 & 203 (or students who havecompleted PV D&I workshops prior to January <strong>2010</strong>.Dates Location TuitionAug 23-27 Paonia, CO $1,395PV 110: Solar Water PumpingThis two-day hands-on workshop covers pumping technologies, PVmodules, system sizing, and component selection.
