Rio Muchachodem<strong>on</strong>strates a combinati<strong>on</strong> oforganic agriculture, permaculture,local traditi<strong>on</strong>al mo<strong>on</strong> planting,renewable energies, <strong>and</strong> recyclingof almost everything. While atthe farm, participants will buildan earthen cob oven, learn aboutcomposting <strong>and</strong> organic agriculture,<strong>and</strong> learn about <strong>and</strong> tour the methanebiodigestor, bicycle-powered waterpump, <strong>and</strong> solar-electric systems.Opti<strong>on</strong>al activities at the farm includemilking cows, harvesting fruits <strong>and</strong>vegetables, making cups, spo<strong>on</strong>s, <strong>and</strong>jewelry from local plants, swimmingin the river, or making chocolate— from the bean to the cup. Thenspend <strong>on</strong>e day at Canoa, a beautifulquiet beach town <strong>on</strong> the Pacific coastwhere you can lounge, swim, or evenrent a surfboard.
