Hop on the bus at 7:30 a.m. and enjoy the beautythis state park has to <strong>of</strong>fer. Our day begins with a muffinand beverage en route. Once at the park, we will boardone <strong>of</strong> the world’s largest airboats for a one hour tourwhere you will see an abundance <strong>of</strong> wild life (Alligators,Herons, Spoonbill, Cranes, Anhingas, Ibis, Egrets andmore!). Next it’s <strong>of</strong>f to the Boardwalk for the Bird Tour(self-guided).A box lunch follows in the log pavilion at noon witha choice <strong>of</strong> ham, roast beef or turkey on whole wheat orwhite or a veggie wrap (comes with chips, piece <strong>of</strong> fruit,cookie and beverage). At 1 PM we’re <strong>of</strong>f on the TramSafari Tour which travels <strong>of</strong>f the park’s main roads intoareas <strong>of</strong> flatwoods, prairies and marshlands, learningabout the flora and fauna. The finale is our Canopy<strong>Walk</strong> which is literally a walkway through the treetops.The Myakka Canopy <strong>Walk</strong>way provides easy access toobserve life in the treetops <strong>of</strong> an oak/palm hammock.The walkway is suspended 25 feet above the ground andextends 100 feet through the canopy. A tower soars 74feet in the air to present a spectacular view <strong>of</strong> treetops,wetlands and the prairie/hammock interface.
