Magnicator ® II Gagewith Guided Wave RadarSwitches andTransmittersRedundant SensingTechnologies for theUltimate in ReliableLevel IndicationMTII-4200MagnetostrictiveTransmitter• .001" resolution continuous output• FM & CSA - Class I, Div. 1, Grps. B, C, & D;Class I, Div. 1, Grps. E, F, & GBy combining guided wave radar (GWR) with amagnetic level gage, the Magnicator ® II GuidedWave Radar (MGWR) brings a new standard ofassurance to level indication. The primary advantage of a guided wave radar(GWR) transmitter over a Magnetostrictive orReed Switch transmitter is that the GWRtransmitter is an independent device that doesnot rely on the float’s magnetic field to obtaina reading. A Magnetostrictive or Reed Switchtransmitter measures the position of the floatinside the magnetic gage, while the GWRtransmitter detects the actual fluid level. The GWR transmitter obtains an independentreading of the liquid level, providing an accurateoutput even in the case of a float failure. Also, the GWR transmitter will read the true level ofthe fluid, even if the density of the productvaries. With a magnetic gage, the float is sizedfor the minimum specific gravity and the gagefloat position in the fluid will change withthe specific gravity.Transmitter Features• Measurement independent of density, conductivity, dielectric constant and temperature• Measurement unaffected by foam or turbulent surfaces• Process temperatures from -328˚F (-200˚C) to752˚F (400˚C)• Pressure ranges from full vacuum up to5802 psi (400 bar)• Models available for interface applications;both total and interface level can be providedon one Hart ® signal• Models available with gas phase compensationfor steam applications• Communication Protocols 4-20 mA SIL Hart® Fieldbus FoundationGuided Wave RadarChanges in product specific gravitydo not affect output.SAS-16Tri-MagnetLatching SwitchUnique design creates a snap actionswitch strictly through the use ofrepelling magnetic fields.• No cams or springs• Highly vibration-resistant• UL approved for hazardous locationsClass I, Div. 1, Grps.
