Tech NoteTiltable and telescopicsteering columnstype OTP-TTHN.22.F1.02 is newIntroductionTo meet market demands for more ergonomicand comfortable conditions for the drivers ofvehicles with hydrostatic steering, Danfoss isintroducing a range of adjustable steeringcolumns to supplement the present range.Type OTP-TT steering columns are tiltableand telescopic.Product program 1. Customer-specific versions (see page 4)Application and functionOTP-TT steering columns are for use withDanfoss OSPB, OSPC and OSPL steeringunits and torque amplifier TAD. The lower partof the column contains a telescopic sectionand the upper part a facility for adjusting thetilt-angle.There is one operating handle for bothfunctions. The telescopic length is 80 mm andadjustment is infinitely variable. The tilt can beadjusted in ten steps of 4˚, i.e. a total of 40˚(-16˚ + 24˚)By spring release the upper part tilts awayfrom the driver.Operating force (mean value) measured215 mm from the fixpoint of the operatinghandle is 25 N for tilt adjustment and 60 N fortelescopic adjustment.01-1994 HN.22.F1.02 1

Standard range installationThe length of the shaft (H) end on OTP-TTstandard programme steering columns is thata 4 mm intermediate plate for mounting purposemust be used between steering columnand Danfoss steering unit.The intermediate plate must have four ø12mm plain holes for mounting screws andø44.5 centre holes. The steering column mustbe installed perpendicular to and centered correctlyon the steering unit.(See Danfoss instruction no.
