Archaeology South-East2008058: Holbury Infants School, Holbury, Hampshiregreen apart from RF [1107], which is pale blue. Two pieces belong tothe same vessel (RF ). Though too small to be diagnostic, all pieces arebody sherds, and are likely to be from cylindrical vessels.5.8.3 A fragment of a triangular loomweight (RF ) of Late Iron Age form wasrecovered from linear B [1082] from upper fill [1083], probably residual inthis context. In addition, a medium grain sandstone whetstone (RF )was recovered from probable quarry pit [1004] from fill [1042].5.8.4 The registered finds assemblage is too small and too limited for detailedanalysis. However, the relatively large number of quern stone fragmentssuggests food processing activity on or near the site, which may be linked toagricultural activity. Similar Roman quern stones in Hampshire have beenrecovered from Portchester castle although this assemblage is surprisinglysmall (Cunliffe 1975, 267, Fig 140).CatalogueRF No Context Object Material Period Wt (g)1 1083 LOOM CERA LIA 2162 1035 QUER STONE ROM 15863 1059 VESS GLAS ROM 44 1107 VESS GLAS ROM
