You want to get back into operation withoutdelay. But why risk damage to chain or personal injury by attacking the job with a bluntinstrument? Nobody knows more about chain than Tsubaki and that includes service andmaintenance, of course. That’s why we have developed a patented ECCT tool. A portabletool designed to get that tough job done fast, precise, safe and without damaging yourvaluable chain, thereby jeopardizing the application. Put your hammer down and reachfor the Tsubaki ECCT tool the next time you need to assemble or disassemble chain. That job has just become a lot easier and safer.Sample of chainsizes that aresuitable areas follows:Mill Chain:82, 124, 111, 106, 110, 132Drag Chain:102, 104, 110, 112, 116, 480Standard:CC52Disassembly/Assemblya) To disassemble, grind offpeened end of the chain pin.Open the tail end stock andadjust along the posts asneeded to the appropriateposition for the chain thatyou wish to disassemble. It is not critical that the chainbe tight to the head and tail stocks as the piston rodwill move out to meet the chain. 1/2"-1" space isrecommended. To continue disassembly, go to Step 3.b) To assemble, loosely installthe pin into the chain, openthe tail stock and adjust alongthe posts to the appropriateposition for the chain thatyou wish to assemble. It isnot critical that the chainbe tight to the head andtail stocks as the piston rodwill move out to meet the pin.To continue assembly go to Step 3.Open tail stock and adjustto the chain widthEnsure that there is enoughroom to adjust the chain pinposition as needed45Disassembly/Assemblya) To disassemble, continue applying pressure until thepin breaks the press fi t on the chain. You will hear “popor breaking” sounds when this happens. Ensure thatthe pin has broken the press fi t completely. To continuedisassembling chain, go to step 5.b) To assemble, continue to apply pressure until pin seatscompletely into the chain. There should be no gap betweenpin head and link plate. To continue assembling go to Step 5.Release the hydraulic pressure, returning the piston rodto the relaxed position.Open the tail stock andremove the chain.46 47
