Indirect1) According to the survey reference above:- Job-specific skills is an area identified for improvement from the previousprogram review. Improvements have been made but more are stillneeded. We have implemented requiring students to find anddocumented maintenance information not located in the text book.They are also now required to write papers on class subjects in two ofthe program core classes. We have developed some more open answerquestions to develop diagnostic thought process. We have alsodeveloped some trainers that we put a bug “problem” in and access howthey analyze the issue.- Employees have most of the “soft skills” necessary to perform the workassigned. The lab environment encourages these soft skills andprovides a reward and consequences basis for performance. This skillhas been identified by possible employers as critical for students to workand perform in the modern team environment.- Generally, employers seem satisfied with the quality of service providedby the <strong>Industrial</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong>/<strong>Mining</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> program, givingcomments such as:o “I am very pleased with the craftsmen in our organization thathave acquired their skills and training through WWCC.”o “I am happy with the results of the training.”o “All the employees are doing very good.”o “Good program.”o “Most do exceptionally well, some struggle.”o “WWCC <strong>Industrial</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> Department does a great job inteaching our employees and giving them the tools to be topnotchmaintenance mechanics.”<strong>Industrial</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong>/<strong>Mining</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> Program Review 12
