matter.F<strong>AM</strong>ILYCAR WEBSITELAUNCHEDA website dedicated to the needs of family car buyers has been launched.Melissa Pye, founder of FamilyCar.com.au, says that it has been her 20 years ofautomotive industry experience and listening to people, particularly women,which has led to the birth of this new online resource for family car buyers.Women have a massive influence on familycar purchases, being involved in 92 percentof family car decisions.“Buying your first family car can be verydaunting,” she said.“A lot of us are cruising around in oursmall hatches and two door cars when wedecide to have a family.“Until now, there has been no place wherepeople could go to research their family car.”The website provides reviews on suitablefamily cars, buying and selling tips, childrestraint information, travel tips as well as thelatest in car safety.The site will continue to grow and offeradditional functionality over the coming year.Mrs Pye said the website takes a uniqueapproach to writing car reviews.“We focus on the items that are ofimportance to families such as boot space,ease of getting kids in and out, storage, fuelefficiency and of course safety,” she said.Mrs Pye is believed to be the only femalemotoring writer in the country who has kids.Her seven-year-old twin daughters,Summer and Piper, also get involved with thereviews, giving a child’s perspective.“While my girls are only seven, it isamazing what they pick up on and what theydo and don’t like,” she said.“For example they don’t like seats that aretoo deep where they cannot see out
