Holiday Itinerary<br />
Day 1 After local pick ups we make our way north up into Scotland and onto Banchory.<br />
Day 2 - 4 The following guided walks are included:<br />
Balmoral Castle - 5 miles<br />
Nestled within the Stunning Highland scenery of Royal Deeside on the Banks of the<br />
River Dee is Balmoral Castle – Scottish Home to the Royal Family. A 5 mile escorted<br />
walk around the estate of Balmoral Castle by one of the estate Rangers. The<br />
opportunity to see and understand the workings of the estate and its impact on the<br />
local economy and the environment. Caledonian Pine Forest, sharp mountain air,<br />
grouse moors and breathtaking views. Visit Crathie Church, the Royal Castle Ballroom<br />
and Exhibition with gift shop.<br />
Glen Tanar Estate Aboyne - 6 miles<br />
The possibility to see eagles, deer and an abundance of wildlife. Part of the ancient<br />
Caledonian Forest with an array of exciting Flora and Fauna. This walk takes in the<br />
trout lake and hugs the riverbanks of the Tanar and the Dee.<br />
Loch Miuch - A Nature Reserve managed by Balmoral Estate - 8 miles<br />
This magnificent walk is to see Scotland at its best. The walk hugs the loch side, which<br />
we walk around to visit Queen Victoria’s Royal hideaway, still in use today, and an<br />
impressive waterfall. This walk is at the foot of the famous Lochnager the setting for<br />
Prince Charles’s book - The Old Man of Lochnager.<br />

Royal Deeside is where Queen Victoria built her holiday home<br />
of Balmoral. Our tour explores the superb Scottish countryside<br />
that impressed the Queen so much. Banchory is situated on<br />
the banks of the River Dee, Scotland’s finest Salmon River, and<br />
is conveniently situated for a visit into the mountains and<br />
countryside of the region.<br />

Holiday Itinerary<br />
Day 1 We depart early for our journey north with arrival in Banchory estimated late<br />
afternoon.<br />
Day 2 Scotland’s friendliest Highland Games takes place today – the Lornach Games<br />
at Strathdon. This is one of the oldest Highland Gatherings in Scotland and is well<br />
worth a visit. We return to our hotel for evening dinner.<br />
Day 3 A full day into the Cairngorm Mountains via Tomintoul today, onward then<br />
through Speyside with an afternoon visit to Dufftown and Grantown where we visit<br />
the Glenfarclas Distillery with a tour and a tasting included.<br />
Day 4 Stonehaven is our destination today with its many attractions including<br />
Dunnottar Castle which is steeped in history and has links way back to William<br />
Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots and Oliver Cromwell. More recently it was used for<br />
the Shakespearean classic film Hamlet. The harbour at the south end of the town is<br />
very picturesque with some awe-inspiring views as you approach the town via<br />
Dunnottar Castle.<br />
Day 5 Day at leisure.<br />
Day 6 We check out of the hotel after breakfast for our return journey to Yorkshire,<br />
with arrival back in local areas late afternoon.<br />
