Implementation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>9.1 Scope and ImplementationThis <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> applies to all directors, <strong>of</strong>ficers and employeesand to domestic and foreign organizational units <strong>of</strong> the SCHOTTGroup and has to be implemented by all affiliated enterprises. Alreadyexisting SCHOTT guidelines and rules <strong>of</strong> conduct issued specificallyfor certain regions, departments or groups <strong>of</strong> persons continueto apply without reservation side by side with this <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>unless they are in conflict with this <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>.All applicable laws and regulations apply in each case separately andindependently <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>.All managers <strong>of</strong> SCHOTT are called upon to actively promote thewidest distribution <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> worldwide and providefor its implementation.9.2 AuditingCompliance with the laws and regulations, this <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> aswell as the corporate guidelines must be monitored worldwide in allenterprises <strong>of</strong> the Group.9.3 Help and SupportShould employees <strong>of</strong> SCHOTT have doubts as to whether their conductis in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, theSCHOTT <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> as well as the corporate guidelines, theymay make an appeal for help to their supervisors, the responsiblecompliance representative or a member <strong>of</strong> the Corporate ComplianceOffice <strong>of</strong> SCHOTT.In addition, employees who discover a possible misconduct mayresort to different ways for reporting such misconduct, preferably totheir supervisors or the responsible compliance representative. Therules stated in Paragraph 3.5 apply to anonymous complaints andreports.16
