Ask your homeroom teachers for forms and return the completed forms to that teacher. -­‐ Random searches will be carried out throughout the year to ensure the safety of students and the security of school resources. -­‐ Reminder: Mesh/clear bag policy is still in effect and students must continue to wear the school uniform at all times, including day fieldtrips. -­‐ Playing cards are <strong>not</strong> allowed. Students will be dealt with accordingly. -­‐ Students caught with postal stickers or paper items with tagging/drawings will be suspended. Posting such items around the campus is considered tagging/graffiti/vandalism and offenders will face suspension and GPD will be contacted. -­‐ Students and members of the faculty/staff, who are <strong>not</strong> affiliated with a chartered student organization, must see the principal, Mrs. Perez, for approval to sell any lunch plates on campus. -­‐ As per Board Policy 705 and our department's contract with Sodexo, students are <strong>not</strong> allowed to have pizzas delivered to the school. Deliveries to students will be confiscated and disposed of. Students who placed the order will still be responsible for the cost of the order. -­‐ Music devices and headphones will be confiscated if students are playing them during instructional time, including while walking the halls with music playing loudly, which is disrupting to classes in session. Student Support: -­‐ SSHS Library: All books checked out before the summer break are due today, Friday 24. Please see the librarian if you are unable to bring your books to avoid overdue fines. -­‐ The Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award (VRA) is a recognition program for young women ages 14-­‐17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. The award is given to young women whose activities make the community and world a better place. At the local level, this award will grant $1,000 for this year's VRA winner. The recipient will be invited as a VIP guest at the Soroptimist Charter Night Gala on March, 8, 2013 and will be presented with a check that same evening. VRA poster has been posted and interested students should pick up an application from Ms. Taitano in Counseling. Please <strong>not</strong>e, the deadline for students to submit applications is December 1, 2012. -­‐ Parking Pass applications are due to Mrs. Frances Santos in the …..by Friday, August 31, 2012.
