<strong>SUEDEX</strong> <strong>Tablet</strong>/SuspensionDosage Forms/Composition<strong>Tablet</strong>: Each <strong>Tablet</strong> containsAcetaminophen500 mgPseudoephedrine HCL 60 mgChlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mgSuspension: Each 5ml contains:Acetaminophen125 mgPseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 15 mgChlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mgPharmacological IndexAntipyretic, anti allergic and decongestant.INDICATIONFever, common cold, tonsillitis/ pharyngitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, laryngitis.Bronchitis.ContraindicationsHypersensitivity, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, lactation.Warnings/PrecautionsRenal or hepatic impairment, alcohol-dependent patients, newborns, premature infants.Anesthetics.POTENTIAL HAZARDS:Increases the risk of liver damage in chronic alcoholics. Increased risk of toxicity with otherhepatotoxic drugs or drugs which induce microsomal enzymes.Adverse ReactionsNausea, allergic reactions, skin rashes, acute renal tubular necrosis, transient restlessness,palpitations, tremors.Drug InteractionsBeta-blockers, Digitalis glycosides, CNS stimulants, Antihypertensives or Diuretics usedas antihypertensives. Reduced absorption of cholestyramine within 1 hour ofadministration. Accelerated absorption with metoclopramide.Mechanism of ActionParacetamol has analgesic and antipyretic effects similar to those of aspirin. However,it has no anti-inflammatory effect and does not share the antirheumatic properties ofthe salicylates. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic amine commonly used as adecongestant. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine. It relieves symptoms of runnynose with colds (rhinitis) and hay fever (seasonal rhinitis) and moderate to severeallergic reactions.Usual Dosage
