Edmund <strong>and</strong> Marjorie Galant Endowed AwardEstablished in 2006 by Dr. Richard Galant in honor of Edmund (Class of 1940) <strong>and</strong> Marjorie Galant (1941). Income fromthe endowment will be used to support a renewable award for a junior or senior admitted to the secondary educationprogram in the Department of Teacher Education <strong>and</strong> Professional Development with a minimum GPA of 3.5. First preferenceshould be given to students who are residents of Kent or Washtenaw counties, but may be awarded to any qualifiedresident in the State of Michigan.Myron <strong>and</strong> Hazel Georgia <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 1990 by William Myron <strong>and</strong> Hazel Georgia of Harrison, MI, for students pursuing a teaching major in industrial<strong>and</strong> engineering technology.William R. Gemma <strong>Memorial</strong> AwardEstablished in 1999 in memory of CMU associate professor William R. Gemma, Ph.D., for Health Services Administration<strong>and</strong> International Administration majors.John Genette <strong>and</strong> Andrea Dickey Genette AwardEstablished in 2009 by John Genette (Class of 1976) <strong>and</strong> Andrea Dickey Genette (1978). Income from the endowment willsupport a renewable award for a junior or senior enrolled in the College of Communication <strong>and</strong> Fine Arts, Department ofCommunication <strong>and</strong> Dramatic Arts. The recipient will be pursuing theatre as a profession (does not have to be a theatremajor) wishing to produce their own projects with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Please contact the Department of Communication<strong>and</strong> Dramatic Arts for further information.Glenn Family Foundation <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2002 by Michael (Class of 1973) <strong>and</strong> Glenda Glenn. Income from the endowment will support a renewablescholarship for a sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in the College of Business Administration majoring in business. Thestudent must have a minimum 2.5 GPA <strong>and</strong> exhibit financial need.Michael <strong>and</strong> Glenda Glenn Sales Institute <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2008 by Michael (Class of 1973) <strong>and</strong> Glenda Glenn. Income from the endowment will support a renewableaward for a student with a major or minor in the College of Business Administration, Department of Marketing <strong>and</strong> HospitalityServices Sales Institute. Recipient must be a sophomore or higher, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 <strong>and</strong> be a Michigan resident.Goodwin Family Endowment for Study Abroad <strong>and</strong> International ExperiencesEstablished in 2008 by Keith (Class of 1974, 2006) <strong>and</strong> Janice Goodwin to support international learning for students inthe College of Business Administration. Income from the endowment will support students who wish to study <strong>and</strong>/or internabroad, providing funding for travel, room <strong>and</strong> board, program fees <strong>and</strong> other expenses associated with the internationalexperience. Awards based on GPA, required essay, <strong>and</strong> faculty letter of recommendation.Theodore Goosen AwardEstablished by family <strong>and</strong> friends in memory of Theodore Goosen, former owner of the Mt. Pleasant Malt Shop, for ajunior or senior majoring in marketing or hospitality services administration.Deborah Baroli Govitz <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 1995 as a memorial by L. Scott Govtiz <strong>and</strong> the CMU Department of Marketing <strong>and</strong> Hospitality ServicesAdministration for students majoring in hospitality services administration with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 whohave at least one full semester remaining before graduation. The scholarship is based on full-time enrollment <strong>and</strong> is notrenewable.Gr<strong>and</strong> Rapids Alumni AwardEstablished in 2003 by Gr<strong>and</strong> Rapids Area Alumni to support an endowed award for one or more full-time freshman studentsthat reside in Kent <strong>and</strong> its contiguous counties. Transfer students are not eligible for this award.Gr<strong>and</strong> Traverse Alumni Chapter AwardEstablished in 1992 through funds raised by alumni <strong>and</strong> friends in Gr<strong>and</strong> Traverse County for a full-time freshman (transferstudents are not eligible) with demonstrated financial need. Students will be selected from five counties: Antrim, Benzie,Gr<strong>and</strong> Traverse, Kalkaska <strong>and</strong> Leelanau counties.Great Lakes Bay Region Alumni Chapter Endowed <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2004 by members of the Great Lakes Bay Region Alumni Chapter of Central Michigan University. Incomefrom this endowment will be used to support a scholarship for an incoming freshman who can demonstrate financial needfrom Midl<strong>and</strong>, Bay or Saginaw counties.
