Michael R. Reno <strong>Scholarship</strong> for <strong>Academic</strong> ExcellenceEstablished in 2007 by Michael R. Reno (Class of 1973, 1980). Income from the endowment will support a renewableaward for a resident of the state of Michigan who is a current student <strong>and</strong> will be attending Central Michigan University.Must also indicate a desire to major in an academic program with the College of Humanities <strong>and</strong> Social & Behavioral Sciences.Preference will be given to students who have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.5or higher <strong>and</strong>/or a minimum composite ACT of 24. Richards Endowed <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2006 by Paul (Class of 1975) <strong>and</strong> Barbara Richards. Paul currently serves on CMU’s Development Board<strong>and</strong> is the owner of Superior Cadillac-GMC <strong>and</strong> Brighton Honda. Income from the endowment will support a renewablescholarship for a junior or senior business major with a minimum 2.8 GPA who can demonstrate financial need. Preferencewill be given to students from Livingston County. Second preference goes to students from Wayne, Oakl<strong>and</strong>, Macomb orWashtenaw Counties.Cleon C. Richtmeyer <strong>Scholarship</strong>Dr. Richtmeyer, former dean of the College of Arts <strong>and</strong> Sciences, former chairman of the Department of Mathematics<strong>and</strong> faculty member from 1924 to 1968, bequeathed a scholarship for students majoring in mathematics on the basis ofmerit. Recipients are selected by a committee in the Department of Mathematics.Greg & Antoinette Rickle Endowed <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2010 by Greg (Class of 1973) <strong>and</strong> Antoinette (Nina) Rickle (1973). Income from the endowment will supportan award for a student demonstrating financial need with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The award will alternate yearly betweenthe chemistry <strong>and</strong> anthropology departments. If no qualified recipient is available, the other department may award thescholarship for that year.William H. Rivard Trombone <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 1994 in honor of Professor Emeritus William H. Rivard by former students, colleagues, <strong>and</strong> friends to honorthe lifetime of contributions Dr. Rivard bestowed on the University, the community, <strong>and</strong> the field of music education. Theearnings will be divided into two awards <strong>and</strong> may be awarded to more than one recipient if the committee so chooses: Thefirst award will be for a junior or senior who is currently a music major <strong>and</strong> has completed at least 45 credit hours, butno more than 100, prior to the semester of application. Students will be selected by a committee based on the followingcriteria: minimum GPA of 3.0 in all studies; minimum GPA of 3.25 within the field of music; contributions to CMU Schoolof Music Ensembles; may be renewed. The second award will be for an incoming freshman or transfer student, to be selectedby the trombone faculty <strong>and</strong>/or audition committee during the audition process for showing extraordinary musicalpromise. The award may be renewable for up to four years if the following criteria is met: full-time status as music majorwith emphasis in trombone; maintains GPA of 3.25 for all music classes; contributions to CMU School of Music Ensembles.Tim Roberts Country Radio Broadcasters Endowed <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2006 by the Country Radio Broadcasters in honor of Tim Roberts (Class of 1982). Income from the endowmentwill be used to support a scholarship for a junior or senior in broadcast <strong>and</strong> cinematic Arts. The recipient will havean active past or planned present involvement at WMHW-FM <strong>and</strong>/or other BCA radio units with a minimum GPA of 2.75overall <strong>and</strong> 3.0 in BCA courses.Joan H. Rogers Endowed AwardEstablished in 2013 by Joan H. Rogers ’69 MS. Income from the endowment will support a renewable award for a studentpursuing a career in chemistry, which would also include teaching chemistry or a career in medicine or a health relatedfield. Recipient must initially have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.Joyce Rohlfs <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established by Mr. <strong>and</strong> Mrs. William E. Rohlfs <strong>and</strong> Glen Rohlfs in memory of their daughter <strong>and</strong> sister for junior or seniorwomen who are residents of Midl<strong>and</strong>, Tuscola or Saginaw counties in childhood <strong>and</strong> elementary education.Tracey Marie Rondy <strong>Memorial</strong> Endowed <strong>Scholarship</strong>Established in 2006 in memory of Tracey Marie Rondy by her parents Gary <strong>and</strong> Maureen (Class of 1984) Rondy, sisterTara Rondy (2000), family <strong>and</strong> friends. Income from the endowment will support a scholarship for a fulltime CMU studentwith a minimum 3.0 GPA who attended a public, private, or alternative education school in Mt. Pleasant, Shepherd, BealCity, Alma, Ashley, Breckenridge, Ithaca, or St. Louis. Preference will be given to students with a signed major in interiordesign <strong>and</strong>/or who worked on the vocational education house while attending the Mt. Pleasant High School Vocational/Technical Center.Dan <strong>and</strong> Bobbie Rose <strong>Scholarship</strong>Converted in 1995 from a loan fund established in 1973 by family, alumni <strong>and</strong> friends for Dan’s many years of service to theuniversity <strong>and</strong> community as a teacher, coach <strong>and</strong> athletic director. Annual spendable investment income will be awardedto a CMU physical education major. Application may be made through the Department of Physical Education <strong>and</strong> Sport.
