MACKAYThe year just gone has presented us withmany ups and downs but am pleased to saywe are meeting all challenges head on. Withthe end of the year it brings an end to stronglycontested premierships.Greyhound of the Year went to BloominLuck trained by Neville Jackson which gavehim this honour two years in a row. In astrongly contested finish Bella Bellisimotrained by Paul Frederickson came in secondwith Ten A Penny trained by Michelle Briderthird. Only 24 points separated these top threedogs. Well Done.The trainers premiership went to WayneScott also for the second year running withNeville Jackson second and Michelle Briderthird.The owners award went to Fab FourSyndicate with the minor places onlyseparated by one point between PaulFrederickson in second place and VickiMifsud third.With several new sponsors coming onboard we are looking forward to an excitingnew year so good luck to all.CAPALABABy ALEC STEVENSDuring the Xmas break some extra returfingwas done, changing couch to kikuyu.Track manager Brian Bretherton said theweather was perfect for this and the extraweek helped, so it is now looking the best ithas ever been.As our Capalaba Dinki Di website has itsfifth anniversary on March 10 a special racewill be held similar to the John Close serieswhere all dogs go into a final.The final will be worth $1000 andprizemoney overall $4000.Easter comes early this year, so on theEaster Saturday there will be an Easter Bunnyand also the popular Jack Russells willentertain the patrons in their usual style.Maintenance work has included changingthe gent’s toilets flush systems to manual inline with the water savings requested by thewater authority.GOLD COASTBy JULIE MORTENSENI hope everyone had a WonderfulChristmas and a Happy New Year.The “Boxing Day Fun Day” and the NewYears day race meetings were great withwonderful turnouts and a lot of fun.
