In addition, he serves as supervisingA.D. for hockey, football, gymnastics, golf, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, ticketoffice operations and equipment operations. Porter is also in his <strong>10</strong>th seasonas color radio analyst for football.Porter came to WMU in November, 1995 after spending four seasons at Lamar,where he served as Assistant A.D. for Business Affairs. The Coralville, Iowa,native was also an administrative assistant at Iowa, earning bachelor’s andmaster’s degrees in athletic administration. Van Atter has also helped <strong>Western</strong> Michigan and theCCHA with five NCAA Regional Championships in Grand Rapids.One of the highlights of Van Atter’s career was serving as equipment managerfor the United States team at the World University <strong>Hockey</strong> Championship heldin Joe Louis Arena.Van Atter received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from <strong>Western</strong>Michigan in 1992. He is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment ManagersAssociation and also a member of the Professional <strong>Hockey</strong> Athletic Trainers& Society of Professional <strong>Hockey</strong> Equipment Managers.Dion is single and lives in Kalamazoo.DIONVAN ATTEREQUIPMENT MANAGER<strong>Western</strong> Michigan, 199213th season at WMUJen Query begins her fifth season with the <strong>Hockey</strong> Broncos, overseeing theteam’s strength and conditioning program.Query has been a member of the WMU strength and conditioning staff for fourseasons, assisting with the Bronco hockey, football, women’s basketball, softball,track and field and cross country teams. Under Query’s tutelage formerBronco captain Chris Frank was named a National Strength and ConditioningAssociation All-American for his dedication in the weight room.A native of Grand Haven, Mich., Query spent a year-and-a-half as a speed specialistfor OGAR Frappier Excelleration® in Grand Rapids, Mich.
