Method 9 of 40 CFR (Latest Edition) Part 60, Appendix Ashall be used in the determination of the opacity.2. Method 5 of 40 CFR (Latest Edition) Part 60, Appendix Ashall be used in the determination of particulate matteremissions.Rule 335-3-1-.05Rule 335-3-1-.05Emission Monitoring1. As an indicator of compliance with the particulate matterand opacity emission limits, weekly visual observations ofthe stacks associated with each unit shall be conducted bypersonnel certified in accordance with 40 CFR Part 60,Appendix A, Method 9. If visible emissions greater than 10percent are observed, the facility shall investigate andinitiate any necessary corrective action within 4 hours.After any corrective actions, an additional observation shallbe performed in order to verify that emissions are reduced tonormal.Rule 335-3-16-.05(c)In the event that a week goes by without the operation of aunit, a weekly visual inspection shall not be required.Recordkeeping and Reporting Requirements1. Records of the required weekly visual inspections shall bemaintained and should be readily available for inspection fora period of five years. These records shall include the dateand results of the visual inspections.Rule 335-3-16-.05(c)During weeks that a unit is not in operation and a weeklyvisible observation is not required, it shall be recorded thatthe unit was not in operation.18
